Topic: CAMOUFLAGE

Word: 2 Samuel 15:5‭-‬6 NLT

When people tried to bow before him, Absalom wouldn’t let them. Instead, he took them by the hand and kissed them. Absalom did this with everyone who came to the king for judgment, and so he stole the hearts of all the people of Israel.

Here's My Take:

Why do people Camouflage?

3. For selfish interest:

Be careful when men are cheering you up; when you're being hailed by people or admired, especially the opposite sex.

It could push you into selfishness if you couldn't handle it. That was the case of Absolom, King David's son, which we read yesterday(2 Samuel 15)

The Bible said "Now Absalom was praised as the most handsome man in all Israel. He was flawless from head to foot. He cut his hair only once a year, and then only because it was so heavy. When he weighed it out, it came to five pounds"2 Samuel 14:25‭-‬26 NLT

This is what made him think he was in the best position to take away kingship from his father. The constant hearing of those beautiful things about him nurtured selfishness in his heart which grew into wickedness. And this wicked act of his was made possible through Camouflage.

Conclusion:

When people tell you how good you look; how best you're in a thing; how neat your work is. Does it trigger anything in your mind?

Does it make you think you're the boss; you're ontop of the world; you've arrived?

If such is going on in your mind, then  you have a problem.

Song:

As the deer panted for water

So my soul longeth after thee

You alone that my heart desire

And I long to worship you

Prayer:

Father let my mind be stayed on you. Amen.

Have you made up your mind to follow Christ???
