40. Financial Direction Requires Self-Control. Money tests self-control. A person who cannot control spending may struggle to control wealth. Discipline is often the difference between temporary riches and lasting prosperity. Many people are poor not because they earn too little, but because they spend without direction.
41. Financial Direction Exposes Pride. Many financial mistakes are not caused by need but by pride. Pride is one of the greatest enemies of financial wisdom.
Humility allows a person to grow steadily without unnecessary pressure.
People buy expensive clothes, rent houses they cannot afford, organize lavish ceremonies, purchase luxury cars, and maintain extravagant lifestyles—
not because they need them, but because they want to prove something to others.
Conclusion:
Every unnecessary expense delays a necessary investment. Financial discipline is choosing tomorrow over today's unnecessary pleasure.
