WHAT SPIRITUAL DIRECTION DOES FOR US:
1. Spiritual Direction Helps Us Avoid Spiritual Traps
Not everything that looks good is good spiritually. Spiritual direction helps a person avoid deception, temptation, wrong teachings, destructive relationships, and dangerous decisions. Many people fall into trouble not because they are ignorant physically, but because they ignored spiritual warnings.
2. Spiritual Direction Produces Inner Peace
When a person is spiritually directed, there is usually peace and assurance within, even in difficult situations. Spiritual direction removes unnecessary fear, anxiety, and confusion because the person has confidence in God’s guidance.
3. Spiritual Direction Strengthens Discernment
One major benefit of spiritual direction is discernment—the ability to recognize what is right, wrong, profitable, dangerous, or misleading. Discernment helps a person avoid manipulation, spiritual errors, and unnecessary battles.
Conclusion:
Spiritual direction prevents wasted years, wasted energy, and unnecessary struggles.
