THE PHARISEES

Eguh Nnamdi’s Nugget

Topic: THE PHARISEES

Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT

The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Here’s My Take:

Before we draw the curtain on this great topic; The Pharisees, let's show us where Modern-Day Pharisaic attitude might be seen

In the Church:

It can be seen in leaders who use their positions not to serve, but to control and dominate others. Instead of guiding people toward God with humility and love, they enforce rules and expectations that elevate their authority... religion becomes more about performance than transformation.

In Social and Political Spaces:

This attitude is evident in people who rely heavily on moral, religious, or theological arguments, not to build others up, but to win debates and assert superiority... When belief systems are used as tools for dominance instead of instruments of compassion, the essence of true faith is lost.

Within Ourselves:

Perhaps the most dangerous place this attitude can exist is within the human heart. It shows up when we begin to trust in our knowledge, spiritual achievements, or religious activities as the basis for our righteousness... This quiet self-justification can blind us.

Conclusion:

Am I more concerned about how I appear before others than who I truly am before God? God is not impressed by outward displays—He is moved by a sincere heart.

Let your faith be real, your love be genuine, and your walk with God be deeper than how you appear before people.

Song:

I can see Him from afar
With fire in His eyes
He's standing by your door
He's waiting for you...

Prayer: May the Lord, search our heart and remove every trace of hypocrisy in us. And help us to walk in sincerity, humility, and truth. To love genuinely. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
