Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
MODERN DAY PHARISEES:
Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":
4. Control & Power: Still from yesterday…
I shared a story about a Pharisee who had two sons. These young men made life difficult for the man of God they were under. After frustrating him and destabilizing the church, they eventually left and started their own ministries. But before leaving, they made the church environment unbearable—causing many members to walk away.
So let us be careful—
- • When we begin to feel we have the capacity to do anything we like…
- • When the servant of God we are under chooses to remain quiet instead of reacting…
- • When we think we can pull people away after gaining influence…
- • When we believe our gifts, age, or privileges place us above authority…
Let us be careful.
Conclusion:
Whether or not this aligns with personal beliefs, one thing is certain: actions have consequences. God is merciful and forgives, but every action and attitude carries results. What we sow, we will reap. Let us be guided.
Song:
My faith has found a resting place,
Not in device nor creed.
I trust the ever-living One;
His wounds for me shall plead.
Refrain:
I need no other argument,
I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died,
And that he died for me.
Prayer: May the Lord liberate His Church from Modern-Day Pharisees. In Jesus name. Amen.
