Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
"The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses."
Here’s My Take:
MODERN DAY PHARISEES:
2. Judgmentalism: One obvious trait of the Pharisees was their judgmental attitude.
They were quick to judge and condemn others. Though they had their own flaws, they failed to see them, yet were always ready to point out the faults of others.
This is also typical of many modern-day Pharisees. They set themselves up as judges over others. Back then in our church, we had such people—until God used His servant to correct and change their attitudes. It became clear how people were always searching for something to use against others.
After every church service, they would gather in small groups to discuss people—from the pastor to the newcomer. No one was spared, except those who were absent that day. That was the kind of life they lived until God dealt with the situation.
Conclusion:
It is disheartening that Pharisaic attitudes still exist in the Church today, even after all that Jesus exposed about them in Scripture. Yet, some still choose that path. May God show His Church mercy.
🎵 Song:
"With you Lord I can be naked and not ashamed
With you Lord I can be open and have no fear
For I found in you a friend that I can trust
That is why you'll remain my great physician."
Prayer: May the Lord liberate His Church from the modern day Pharisees. In Jesus name. Amen.
