Still on John 12:1-11 NLT. It's a story of how the Pharisees decided to kill Lazarus. They said he was the reason why their followers abandoned them and followed Christ. This thing happened more than two thousand years ago, yet we are still seeing it play before our eyes. When people leave their Church to another Church, they'll be in serious trouble. Someone told a story how the Pastor of his former Church threatened to kill him. While some received curses
This will make one wonder what they are dragging and fighting for, if not for personal interest? Because if it was for the sake of their soul or God's interest, leaving or staying won't be a matter. Because our aim should be to encourage people to serve God, and not the Church they belong to.
The fight for "my membership" has not helped the Church. And it won't help the Church either. Because it has shifted the main focus of the Church.. Many Churches are seeing it as the right approach. And it has made feeble minds lose hope and trust in God.
Conclusion:
The way this matter is going made people see the Church as a business center. And if you try to defend the Church, they will show you evidence to back up their claim. And truly, they have evidence.
