THE PHARISEES - shame to boldness

Eguh Nnamdi’s Nugget

Topic: THE PHARISEES

Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT

"The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses."

Here’s My Take:

Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:

The Bible says that despite all the miraculous signs Jesus had done, most of the people still did not believe in Him. However, some Jewish leaders did believe, but they would not admit it openly for fear of the Pharisees. For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.

"I was once in their shoes. Whenever I was praying at work and noticed someone approaching, I would quickly stop and pretend I wasn't... The Spirit of God made me realize something that shocked me—I was actually ashamed of Him."

That realization shook me. After that day, the next time I prayed, I continued without minding who was looking—though I was still mindful of the workspace.

Conclusion:

The religious leaders were afraid of losing their titles and positions, not their lives. They were afraid of losing the honors and honorarium they received from people, not their eternal crowns.

🎵 Song:

I have found a friend in Jesus, He's ev'rything to me,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The "Lily of the Valley," in Him alone I see,
all I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.

He's the "Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,"
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

Prayer: Lord may I not find any reason to put my light under a closure. In Jesus name. Amen.
