THE PHARISEES:

Topic: THE PHARISEES

Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Here’s My Take:

Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:

You see envy and jealousy, they're destructive instruments. Anyone who becomes their victim cannot escape being used by the devil. Look at this..when Jesus came to visit the Lazarus family. The Bible said "when all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead.

But the leading priests, seeing how people were trooping to see Jesus, decided to kill Lazarus. What was his offense? They said it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus. John 12:1-11 NLT. Just imagine?!

The story above reminds me the situation of the Church today. When people leave their Church to another Church, they'll be in serious trouble. Some will receive threats. Even death threats from their former church. They will see them as betrayals. And will do anything to cut them off...

Conclusion:
The situation of the Church today concerning members is heartbreaking. One will wonder what they are dragging and fighting for, if not for personal interest? Because if we have the interest of God at heart, leaving or staying won't be a matter. Because we will be encouraging people to worship wherever they want.

Song:
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand:
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

Prayer:
Lord may I not be a slave to envy and jealousy. In Jesus name. Amen.
