THE PHARISEES:

Topic: THE PHARISEES

Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Here’s My Take:

Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:

You see envy and jealousy, they're destructive instruments. Anyone who becomes their victim cannot escape being used by the devil. Look at this..when Jesus came to visit the Lazarus family. The Bible said "when all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead.

But the leading priests, seeing how people were trooping to see Jesus, decided to kill Lazarus. What was his offense? They said it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus. John 12:1-11 NLT. Just imagine?!

Mr Lazarus and his family will be rejoicing that the Lord is coming to check up on them, not knowing that the Bishops and priests of the cathedral they belong to are planning to kill him. Not because he did anything wrong, but because his living is a threat to their selfish interests.

Conclusion:
So many people are not affected by sexual immorality or lying or cheating or stealing or any other arts of sin we know. But they're slaves to envy and jealousy... somebody say "God forbid!"

Song:
You unravel me with a melody
You surround me with a song
Of deliverance from my enemies
'Til all my fears are gone

I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God

Prayer:
Lord may I not be a slave to envy and jealousy. In Jesus name. Amen.
