Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
Jesus Encounter Me The Pharisees:
The Bible said "Levi held a banquet in his home with Jesus as the guest of honor. Many of Levi’s fellow tax collectors and other guests also ate with them. But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus’ disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with such scum?”
Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” Luke 5:29-32 NLT
In the New Testament, if not in the entire Bible, I have not seen anyone or a set of people that complain like the Pharisees. Jesus didn't call them to join Him, neither did he invite them to his meetings. But they will all show up. Not that they will come and keep quiet, instead they would want to hear, see and know what he was doing. And they still complain.
To be continued...
Conclusion:
When someone has made up his mind to be your enemy, every damn thing you do(good or bad) will always be an issue. That's typical of Pharisees to Jesus...
Song:
Wherever You may lead
Lord I will follow You
Your will be done in my life
I have no will of my own
Take the lead oh Lord
I'll follow You
Take the lead oh Lord
I will follow You
Take the lead oh Lord
I'll follow You
I will follow You
Prayer:
Lord, may I not be like the Pharisees. In Jesus name. Amen.
