THE PHARISEES:

Topic: THE PHARISEES

Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Here’s My Take:

Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:

Affter the triumphant entry of Jesus to Jerusalem. The Bible said he entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”

After that, he taught daily in the Temple, but the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him. Luke 19:45-47 NLT. There's this demon of conscience that has weaponized the conscience of people, making them not to regard bad things as bad, even when they know that they are bad.

The Pharisees understood that what they were doing was not approved by the Law, yet they chose to do it. Since they were the Law initiators, they'll find a way to bend it for their gain. Just like we seeing in our world today, the Law is not for the Lawless, the Law is for the poor. Their anger wasn't because Jesus chased the people away, but because their interests were affected. And the plans to kill him began.

Conclusion:
After their encounter with Jesus, they began planning on how to kill him. The Bible said "But they could think of nothing, because all the people hung on every word Jesus said." Luke 19:48 NLT. For who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? 1Peter 1:13

Song:
In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease;
my Comforter, my All in All;
here in the love of Christ I stand.

Prayer:
Lord in time of trouble may the truth defend us. In Jesus name. Amen.
