THE PHARISEES:

Eguh Nnamdi’s Nugget

Topic: THE PHARISEES

Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Here’s My Take:

Jesus Encounter Me The Pharisees:
Luke 6:1-2

The Bible said "One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples broke off heads of grain, rubbed off the husks in their hands, and ate the grain. But some Pharisees said, “Why are you breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?”" Luke 6:1-2 NLT

If you've read the above verses of the Scripture and you didn't laugh then you don't know what is funny. How can some people see you pluck out heads of grain, rub off the husk and ate it conclude that you're harvesting. If there was a law forbidding people from eating on Sabbath day, it will be understandable. But not this one.

When someone has made up his mind to hate you, anything you do will attract quarrel. He will keep monitoring you just to find something to hold on to, to make a problem with you. The Pharisees never rested where Jesus is. They monitored him throughout his human ministry on earth.

Conclusion:
Jesus replied, “Haven’t you read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He went into the house of God and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests can eat. He also gave some to his companions.” Luke 6:3-4 NLT
