Here’s My Take:
Jesus Encounter Me The Pharisees:
Boy oh boy! The worst kind of people to deal with are the Pharisees. They are controlling in nature. You know that they often served as teachers and leaders in synagogues, enforcing heavy religious laws on people. They held seats in the Jewish ruling council. They were renowned for their rigorous interpretation and application of Jewish Law.
So they disliked Jesus because He did more than they were doing. They tried to box Him so that He would do only what they wanted. But He was not an easy prey. The fear of His boldness, audacity, and authority became their nightmare. They started looking for loopholes.
This is what happens when you have a business with the Pharisees. They want everyone to be under them, and everything they say is final. Failure to do their bidding means that they will go to any length to stress you. They’ll continue to mount pressure on you so that you’ll succumb to their intent.
Conclusion:
The lust for being in control is an enemy of progress. It will blind a person from seeing that he is heading to destruction. The Pharisees don't care!
