Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
Jesus Encounter Me The Pharisees:
When someone has made up his mind to be your enemy, every damn thing you do (good or bad) will always be an issue. The worst person you can please in life is your hater. Anything you do to make him rethink or change his attitude towards you will be a waste of time. Even if you fall from the sky and injure yourself, he’ll hate you more.
It’s easier for someone who dislikes you to like you back than for someone that hates you to love you. Someone can dislike you for a particular reason, and when you’re able to clear your slate on that, he may not like you back literally. But he will find you a tiny space in his heart.
But when someone hates you, no good thing will make him change his mind. In fact, the more you try to win him, the more he gets pissed off. The sight of you alone will make his heart bitter. The worst part of it is that they can hate anybody that is connected, associated, or related to you because of you.:
Conclusion
The Pharisees hated Jesus out of envy because Jesus was gaining more popularity and attention than them. So they feared that their recognition would be jeopardized.:
Song
Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain—
Free to all, a healing stream—
Flows from Calv’ry’s mountain.
Refrain:
In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.:
Prayer
Lord, may I not be like the Pharisees. In Jesus name. Amen.
