I met someone who was lamenting about how the people he did good to repaid him with evil. Because of that experience, he decided never to do good again—and never to forget those who wronged him.
There are some of us reading this who have had similar encounters—experiences so painful that we concluded we would never do good again.
However, the Bible says:
“And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” — Hebrews 13:16 (NLT)
Do not do good because of the people receiving it. Do good because it pleases God.
