Don't Pity Jonah!

Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!

Word: Jonah 1:15 NLT
Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!

Here's My Take:

What Jonah stands for…

We have been able to establish that Jonah stands for Disaster, Deception, Delay,  Disobedience, Misidentification and Silent Saboteur. When you have anyone/people acting in these manner around you, just know that Jonah is very much around you.

7. Pretender: Jonah also stands for a pretender. It was this attitude of his that cost the men in the ship their means of livelihood.

He came into the ship pretending to be a passenger. He came into the ship acting innocent, safe, and free from any problems.

This is how people come into our lives, pretending to be innocent—pretending to be reasonable, good people, or even pretending to be believers of Christ. They end up earning our trust, only for us to find out later that they’re demonic—demon agents. They’ll get deep into us, making it difficult for us to end whatever we have with them. That was typical of Jonah.

To be continued…

Conclusion:
Any chance with Jonah doesn’t end well. We have mistaken them severely because they pretended to be one of us.

Song:
No guilt in life, no fear in death;
this is the pow'r of Christ in me.
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man
can ever pluck me from His hand;
'til He returns or calls me home,
here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand!

Prayer:
Lord, may I not fall into the hands of Jonah. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
