Don't Pity Jonah!

Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!

Word: Jonah 1:15 NLT

Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!

Here's My Take:

What Jonah stands for…

6. Silent Saboteur:

How to know the Silent Saboteur…

d. They sleep while your life is shaking.

Silent Saboteurs cause damage they don’t feel. You will be the one crying — they won’t.

You will be the one praying — they won’t.

You will be the one fighting — they won’t.

And they will be the ones resting while you stay awake.

Jonah slept through the storm he caused. He was enjoying his sleep in the middle of chaos. No one runs away from God and enjoys peace—yet Jonah did. He slept like an overfed one-year-old while others were perishing.

Listen to this again:

Anyone who is comfortable while your life is falling apart is a Jonah.

Anyone who laughs when others are crying is a Jonah.

Anyone who remains unconcerned when people are in trouble is a Jonah.

Conclusion:

Silent Saboteurs will say sorry only after the damage is done. They prefer apologizing later to taking responsibility and avoiding the damage in the first place.

Song:

Who the Son sets free

Oh is free indeed

I'm a child of God, yes I am

In my Father's house

There's a place for me

I'm a child of God, yes I am

Prayer:

Lord, let every Jonah be cut out of my life and my family. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
