Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!

Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!

Here's My Take:

What Jonah stands...

5. Misidentification:

Jonah stands for Misidentification. The danger of misidentifying a Jonah is that you will keep investing trust in someone who will turn out to be the opposite of what you thought he was. And here is the painful part: Jonah will never tell you the truth unless storms force the truth out of him.

It took a violent storm…

It took fear…

It took loss…

It took crisis…

Before Jonah finally confessed who he was.

Some Jonahs in our lives will NEVER reveal themselves until trouble exposes them. Until your peace disappears. Until your joy dries up. Until your progress stops. Until everything begins to scatter. You may think you’re under attack. You may think the problem is spiritual warfare.

Conclusion:

But sometimes, the problem is that one wrong person you allowed into your space. That is what misidentification does—It makes you fight the wrong battles while protecting the real cause of your storm.

Song:

I've got my mind made up and I won't turn back

Because I want to see my Jesus someday

I've got my mind made up and I won't turn back

Because I want to see my Jesus someday

Prayer:

Lord, let every Jonah be exposed and cut off from amongst us. In Jesus. Amen
