Don't Pity Jonah!

Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!

Word: ‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Jonah 1:15 NLT

Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!

Here's My Take:

What Jonah stands...

5. Misidentification: Jonah stands for Misidentification. Jonah joined the ship, and they mistook him as a fellow passenger, not knowing that he was running away. His real self or purpose didn't show because he appeared like everyone else. After all, who will question him since he had tickets as evidence?

Today, we have so many Jonahs in our lives that we have misidentified, thinking that they’re what we thought they should be — not knowing that they’re actually not what we thought they were. I don’t know if you have had someone that posed himself as your brother/sister, but the person is working seriously against you behind your back?!

I have had them. Well, that's the story for another day. Jonah will make you love him more than the rest. He will make you trust him or believe in him more than anyone else, because that's the “him” you'll see/know. Every other thing remains a secret.

To be continued...

Conclusion:

Jonah will give you an identity you'll hold onto, and the real him will he withhold from you — except God exposes him.

Song:

Count your blessings, name them one by one;

Count your blessings, see what God hath done;

Count your blessings, name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Prayer:

Lord, please may we not misidentify the Jonahs around us. In Jesus. Amen
