Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!
Word: Jonah 1:15 NLT
Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!
Here's My Take:
What Jonah stands...
3. Delay:
He could have gone early and saved a nation, but he went late and caused a storm. That’s what delay does — it turns simple missions into painful journeys. Delay is disobedience dressed in patience. It looks calm but kills destiny silently. Jonah rested while others struggled — that’s deceptive rest.
You can’t have peace while God is displeased. Until you obey, no rest is real rest. Delay makes you sleep through warnings. Jonah was asleep when he should have been praying. That’s how delayed people behave — they’re unaware of what’s shaking.
Delay keeps you numb when urgency calls. When the captain woke Jonah, it was a wake-up call for delayed destinies. He said, “How can you sleep at a time like this?” He was saying, “Why are you comfortable with delay?” The longer Jonah stayed silent, the more time they lost.
Conclusion:
Delay loves comfort zones — the longer you stay, the harder it is to move. If the men in the boat hadn’t acted quickly, they would have lost everything, including their lives.
Song:
Lord if I
Find favor in Your sight
Lord please
Hear my hearts cry
I'm desperately waiting
To be where You are
I'll cross the hottest desert
I'll travel near or far
For Your glory
I will do anything
Just to see You
To behold You as my King
Prayer:
Lord, take away every Jonah in my life and destiny. In Jesus. Amen
