All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had.
Here's My Take:
CATALYST(As A Child of God):
So many times I'd asked myself what could be the reason behind the lapses we're seeing now amongst brethren? Is it that the unity(Fellowship, Love, etc) has been watered down with trends or cares of life or what? Also, I'd wondered if the population is what is affecting us. Because then, it looks like small size was our strength.
It seems that we were bonded more and understood ourselves more when the numbers haven't reached hundredths and thousands. Am not against the population, but am curious about the change on the unity and oneness of the brethren.
The Bible said "But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple’s foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy." Ezra 3:12 NLT
People that saw how the Brethren were years ago, and see what we have now will weep for the Church. While those that didn't see it then will not understand why the older brethren are weeping. Irony of life.
Conclusion:
The Old Rugged Cross should never be chastised by trends, systems or population. The Cross efficacy is it's Ruggedness.
