In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honor preferring one another;
Here's My Take:
Affection is the practical way of showing likeness one has on a thing or a person. It's more practical than it is spoken. In other words, there's no way one will see or feel your Affection, when you keep telling how much you liked/loved him, without proving that via your actions towards him.
For instance, a man claimed to love the wife, yet every day he abuse and deals with her. Here, there's no iota of Affection. Because those claims are false(not practiced).
Affection is more practical than it is well spoken. One doesn't need to speak too much about it, your body language is enough to prove that; your facial expressions, your reactions to anything that concerns that person, etc, are evidence of Affection or no Affection(hatred)
Conclusion:
Any Affection that does not come from the heart, is pretence(hatred).
