Here's My Take:
Have you noticed that fault finders hardly see their own faults. Except am the only one that noticed that. I noticed that they like looking/observing any slightest movement one makes, in order to get to work(find fault).
Still on that story. The man on that story is a typical example of a fault funder. Everytime he's always on other people's children, telling them to dress well; if you're on trousers as a woman, serious offense, don't wear it and pass him. Because you'll regret doing that.
He's attitudes towards people's appearances made some ladies vow to see how his children will be, when they all mature. According to the story, few years later, some of his daughters grew up and started mixing up with people; things changed.

Conclusion:
The man that has never been to a battle before, will never understand what those in the battlefield are facing.
