Our(My, Your) Now:

Topic: My Now, Your Now, Our Now:

Word: Luke 18:11 NLT

The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector!

Here's My Take:

Those their Now Came:

6. The Publican:

Lessons to learn from The Publican

3. Denominational Sentiments:

The parable of the Publican and the Pharisee is typical example of where Denominational Sentiments took place. For example in CAN(Christian Association of Nigeria), we have five blocs, yet an average Christian doesn't know. And all they know is their Church and family.

You'll find out that these blocs in CAN are not strong enough to speak with one voice, because of superiority issues. And it has affected their alignment. This is why Christianity is regarded as minority by other religions, in Nigeria, while we know that we are the majority.

The problem is that, even among same denomination, it's even difficult for them to align too. Especially Pentecostals. It's only in Pentecostal that you'll hear 'New Generation Church' and 'Old Generation Church'. Very arrogant and proud in their approaches towards themselves.

Conclusion:

This Parable for me was a prophecy of what would be the state of Church(though not stated); we have seen it fulfilled.

Song:

Everything you do is good

You're God, You're God alone

Everything you do is good

You're God, You're God alone

You have the Final Word

Final Word, Final Word

Your Word is Yea and Amen

Dependable God

Prayer:

May the Lord deliver the Church from ignorance and cause them to live in harmony. Amen.

Why haven't you made up your mind to follow Jesus???
