Lessons to learn from Naaman's story
8. Counsel can come from anyone:
Looking at the reactions of Naaman, one could conclude that Naaman is arrogant. But that's not true, from our perspective he's a humble man, just that his status made him to act funny somehow. Let's look at the reason why we said he was a humble person. (2Kings 5:..)
1. when the servant girl told him about Elisha, through her mistress, he accepted to go; not minding her status(vs3)
2. He didn't rush to go and meet Elisha, rather he first went to get permission from his boss(the King)(vs4)
3. He listened again to another servant the second time, afterwards he went and do as he was told(vs13/14)
4. He pleaded with Elisha for God to forgive him, should incase he follows his master to worship his gods(vs19)
5. After Elisha rejected his offer, he left, when Gehazi came for the same offer in the name of Elisha, he didn't say no, since he didn't collect them the first time. Instead he gave him twice of all he asked(vs21-23)
Conclusion:
Naaman was a man filled with so much lessons to learn; though he was a man of higher status, yet very humble. In that your little office, how high are your shoulders to the people around you?!
