A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Here's My Take:

Different Dictionary Definitions(DDD)

Still from Yourdictionary Definition of Friend as person that you are fond of, with whom you talk or spend time with(someone you've known for a long time).

Based on the above definition, someone may ask, what if I have someone who I call friend, that hardly spend time with me. S/he will breeze in to say Hi(especially when s/he is attending to something in my street) and off s/he goes. Is that person still my friend or just something else?

In my own opinion, I'll say Yes. Because it takes two to tangle; if you understood the condition behind such behavior, then it's not a problem. It could be s/he is busy; trying to survive. Another thing, just like they said, if mountain doesn't go to Moses, then Moses will go to mountain. You can still sacrifice and pay him/her a visit

Friendship is a contribution of two or more people involved. It doesn't come from one person. It's a two way thing.

These contributions may not be equal, but the understanding depicted by the individuals is what matters. Good Friendship is a collective effort. It's a work for both parties

Conclusion:

When two people fond of each other, there's always a way to get along. Even at difficult moment, they'll still find a way to get along. But when such is lacking, friendship comes to a halt.
