Here's My Take: 

Why do people say goodbye?

1. When they're not engaged or when they're over engaged.

Engaging people in any voluntary services for whatsoever requires time. When the time runs out, any other extra time used should be paid for. Unless otherwise stated by the servant to continue, if not, it's a service abuse. But you'll find out that most bosses especially in this part of the world, never cared. All they want is your service and more of your service.

Someone was complaining how most schools have abused the services of Corp Members posted in their schools. They'll want them to do more than their teachers, yet give them nothing. Some see them as slaves that have no one to speak for them, especially those schools in the town. But because most of these Corp members are afraid to be reposted to the rural areas, they chose to absorb everything, than reporting to their heads.

I'd noticed that many people and organizations doesn't understand humans and human resource management. All they want are results with little or no care about the engines that made such results possible. That's why you see most times, many organizations are looking for workers, because they ones they had have fled.

Conclusion:

When a machinery is overused/engaged, it's operation will start diminishing and if care is not taking it will break down. All it takes to make it last long is maintenance and using it within the required time frame
