Demas has deserted me because he loves the things of this life and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus has gone to Dalmatia.

Here's My Take: 

How to know that you've been told Goodbye.

5. When their interest is somewhere else:

Just like we said yesterday about Demas. Demas found himself in a challenging and demanding situation just like many of us. Situations that will thwart your interest in Christ. The things he saw created so much lust in him, to the point he couldn't control them. He was previously a serious Brother, working with Paul. Maybe telling people to repent and accept Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour.

But the environment and things he saw shifted him from his salvation and proclamation. Same thing many of us today are facing. When we were growing up, we served and loved God with so much zeal. Being in Children's church, we engaged in so much activities for Christ. But as we've grown up, peer pressure plus world system(technology, social media, etc) increased the outburst of immoral desires in us.

Not that Demas couldn't have handled them, he could have. But he allowed his interest to overpowered his goodly decisions. Just like most us is doing now, with minding the damage and consequences.

Conclusion:

I encourage you to withdraw your steps and come back to Christ your first Love. He's that very good decision you have and will forever make. Trust me!
