Here's My Take: 

How to know that you've been told Goodbye.

3. By writing: 

This is a Nonverbal form of saying goodbye. People in this category finds it difficult to open up(talk). They prefer their hands to do the talking than their mouths. Before you see them talk, the Israelites would have crossed the red see. The phlegmatic kinda temperament is example of such.

They'd prefer writing

than talking when they wanna say goodbye in a relationship(friendship). Maybe, reason been that if they stay to talk, they'll be convinced to stay. So therefore, they rather write than talk, to save themselves.

I'd found out that even strong people too can fall back to a written goodbye when they don't have the strength to express themselves.

So in talking, they may speak less. But when it comes to writing, they'll pen down

everything that you never believed they'll remember. So when you see this kinda personality, don't complain too much, bear with them. For the Lord God made them so!!!

Conclusion:

People who prefer writing than talking, are people who are only free in their own world but not in the world of others(general world).
