The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":

5. Division & Argument: As a Pastor or Priest, do not allow Pharisaic attitudes to divide your church. One essential quality every spiritual leader must possess is the grace and ability to gather people and keep them united.

This is one of the most difficult responsibilities in ministry. A person may operate in miracles, signs, and wonders, and possess many spiritual gifts—but keeping a church united requires a deeper level of grace.

A leader who is able to keep the church together is, in many ways, more effective than one who is highly gifted but unable to maintain unity. Having served under pastors and carefully observed their work, I can say confidently that one of the greatest assignments of any priest is to preserve unity within the church.

This does not mean there will be no disagreements or weaknesses. But the ability to manage conflicts while the church continues to grow and flourish goes beyond the display of gifts.

Conclusion:

When you see a servant of God who has the grace to keep the church united, appreciate and honor that work. It is one of the most demanding and valuable responsibilities in ministry.
