Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
MODERN DAY PHARISEES:
Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":
5. Division & Argument: One thing I dislike is arguing about which church is the best, which denomination is the original, or which one God approves. I rejected that mindset early in life because I see no real value in it. That kind of thinking is typical of modern-day Pharisees.
Over time, we have seen this attitude grow within the Church—people comparing themselves with one another, creating unnecessary divisions. Segregation is everywhere.
When you observe these behaviors, you may begin to wonder if the Church itself is the problem. But the Church of Jesus Christ is not the problem—the problem is the mindset people bring into it.
Their mission is the same everywhere: to create division and stir arguments. Location is not a barrier to them; as long as they can spread division, their objective is achieved.
Conclusion:
Believers are urged to identify, watch out for, and avoid individuals who create divisions, stumbling blocks, or obstacles contrary to sound doctrine. Romans 16:17-18. Let's identify them...
Song:
God will work it out
God will work it out
One thing I know
One thing I've found
God will work it out
Prayer: May the Lord liberate His Church from Modern-Day Pharisees. In Jesus name. Amen.
