Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":

5. Division & Argument: Modern-day Pharisees and division/arguments go hand in hand. They are among the major reasons for the divisions and problems we see in the Body of Christ today. Hear what Apostle Paul said about them "Some people may contradict our teaching, but these are the wholesome teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. These teachings promote a godly life. Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding.

Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions. These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy." 1 Timothy 6:3-5 NLT

Their mission is simple—to argue and cause division. Every message the Pastor preaches becomes a subject of debate. They question his tone, his boldness, even his intentions—labeling him as arrogant or audacious. They will always find something to criticize. If they are not directly involved in any activity or program in the Church, that program automatically becomes a target for condemnation.

Conclusion:

Look around your Church—you will surely notice them. They cannot hide it, because it has become their lifestyle.
