Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
MODERN DAY PHARISEES:
Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":
4. Control & Power: One of the most ironic things about some modern-day Pharisaic attitudes is that many who once criticized and undermined others later become leaders themselves—even pastors. It makes one wonder whether they truly understood what they were opposing in the first place. After tearing down another man’s work, they step into the very role they once despised.
I shared a story earlier about a church where the servant of God was deeply frustrated by such individuals. They went as far as discouraging people from supporting him financially, spreading false information to isolate him. Later, some of those who were misled came back to confess what they had been told.
Conclusion:
When influence and recognition begin to grow around you in any ministry, guard your heart carefully. Do not allow pride to take root. The distance between humility and pride is very small—almost unnoticed until it’s too late. Stay watchful.
Song:
It wasn't easy
It wasn't easy
It wasn't easy but it was worth it
Prayer: May the Lord liberate His Church from Modern-Day Pharisees. In Jesus name. Amen.
