The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Here’s My Take:

MODERN DAY PHARISEES:

4. Control & Power: Modern-day Pharisees are one of the reasons the Church today sometimes looks like a family business. It was not meant to be so, but the fear of such people gaining power has pushed many into that direction.

One of the greatest mistakes a person can make is allowing what happened to others to happen to them. Some church founders have seen how others were stripped of the fruit of their labour by a few individuals they trusted and appointed as board members.

So they resolved that it would not happen to them. As the saying goes, no one stays inside a river and allows soap to enter their eyes—not even a mad person. Because of what they have seen, some founders place their family members in key positions within the church.

So, do not be too quick to blame them—they have seen things.

Conclusion:

Some of the changes you see in churches today, which may not sit well with you, are often reactions to the influence and actions of Pharisaic individuals within the Church.
