The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":
3. Focus on Appearance: The Church seems to be divided based on the pattern of dressing. Some Churches accept no other way of dressing, except Suit, Shirt and ties. Some has no pattern just dress well. Some accept any dress but place restrictions on trousers for women. Some accept trousers for women, but restricted in the Church. While some never place restrictions on any kind dress.
Because of these restrictions, the Pharisees saw something they will use as a law to oppress people. Yes it's important to respect the Church policy, but there's a room for compromise, especially when the person is a new comer. So many people have left the Church because they were condemned at the first contact with the Church... check the example we gave yesterday you'll understand better.
Pharisees are too quick to push people away from the WAY.
I was in a Church one Sunday, a sister came out and gave special song. She sang so powerfully that the crowd gave her standing ovation. Though her dress wasn't as powerful as the song she rendered. Immediately the moderator collected the mic, he announced to have a meeting with the sister. The announcement was so obvious that everybody knew why. And she didn't wait.
Conclusion:
In order to solve problem we end up creating more problem. There's an approach you'll give a person and you end up pushing them away from the Truth that they're looking for.
