Topic: THE PHARISEES (Final)
Word: Matthew 23:27-28 (KJV)
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones… Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”
Here’s My Take:
We have come to the end of this great topic: The Pharisees. But before we go, below is the summary of the things we discussed in this topic, and some of the things we would want you to know...
Pharisees are not defined by title, position, or generation—they are defined by attitude and mindset.
A Pharisee is someone who:
- Focuses on outward appearance but neglects inner transformation
- Judges others while excusing or hiding personal faults
- Lacks mercy but is quick to condemn
- Resists truth, especially when it exposes them
- Thrives on arguments, division, and control
- Uses laws, doctrines, and policies to dominate rather than to build
- Feels threatened by genuine growth, truth, and grace
- Prefers influence and recognition over humility and service
- Appears godly outwardly but lacks true love inwardly
Pharisees can be found anywhere—church, family, leadership, or society. It is not about who they are called, but how they live and operate.
Conclusion:
A Pharisee is anyone who chooses religion over relationship, appearance over transformation, and control over love.
Song:
You are the odogwu
The mighty warrior
I call You Agaba
Miracles happen when I worship You
More than enough for me
It's my joy to worship You
Prayer: May the Lord, search our heart and remove every trace of hypocrisy in us. And help us to walk in sincerity, humility, and truth. To love genuinely. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
