The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":

5. Division & Argument: Modern-day Pharisees argue a lot. And when you examine the reasons behind their arguments, they are often baseless.

Whenever a new program or project is introduced in the Church, they will find something to argue about. Listening to them, you may begin to wonder—what exactly is the problem? Do they lack understanding, or do they simply resist anything good?

Even when they clearly know that a program or project will benefit the Church, they still choose to oppose it. And even after the majority has accepted it, they insist on being heard. Because of this persistent nature, they keep dragging issues until they eventually cause division.

This is one of the reasons some pastors do not involve the entire leadership when making decisions. Instead, they consult a few trusted individuals, while others hear about it later from the pulpit.
