Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
MODERN DAY PHARISEES:
Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":
2. Judgmentalism: One thing I am convinced of is that the Church of Jesus Christ will always have different belief systems until eternity.
As someone who served as the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Okigwe LGA President for a decade, I observed that almost all the churches within the fellowship had different beliefs—though some shared similarities.
Within this same fellowship, there are churches that see themselves as superior. They claim to be part of the fellowship, yet they refuse to associate with others. Then there are those whose main assignment seems to be judging others—labeling which church is good, bad, or wrong.
Ironically, in all their judgments, they do not truly associate with any church. They believe they are too holy to mingle with others, too pure to relate with others.
Conclusion:
People’s beliefs shape their mentality, and that mentality, in turn, affects how they relate and associate with others.
Song:
I speak the name of Jesus over you
In your hurting, in your sorrow
I will ask my God to move
I speak the name 'cause it's all that I can do
In desperation, I'll seek Heaven
And pray this for you
Prayer: May the Lord liberate His Church from the modern day Pharisees. In Jesus name. Amen.
