Here’s My Take:
MODERN DAY PHARISEES:
Characteristics of a "Modern-Day Pharisee":
1. Legalism & Ritualism: Emphasize external observance (rules, traditions, metrics) as the path to righteousness, not inner heart change. This is why other religion see Christianity as a religion. So much rituals in the name of dogma and doctrine.
This is one reason there are so many denominations today—each one wants to prove it is the best. Every one of them claims to have the best system of worship, and in doing so, they often see others as inferior. Because of this sense of superiority, no one wants to acknowledge or respect the other.
They are always criticizing and talking down on others. Every service day becomes another opportunity to point out what others are doing wrong—or even what they are doing right. But once people follow the same pattern or tradition, such criticism suddenly disappears.
Conclusion:
"I want to know, is there an award for the best performing Church in Heaven?"
