Here’s My Take:
Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:
John 9:15-16 NLT
The Pharisees asked the man all about it. So he told them, “He put the mud over my eyes, and when I washed it away, I could see!” Some of the Pharisees said, “This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath.” Others said, “But how could an ordinary sinner do such miraculous signs?” So there was a deep division of opinion among them.
Do you notice that many of the healings Jesus performed in the Bible happened on the Sabbath day? Who knows—maybe one reason there were so many sick people around was because they came out on the Sabbath. Yet the Pharisees refused to do anything to help them, simply because it was the Sabbath.
What concerns me most is that they were busy shouting, “It’s against the law!” while people were suffering. Instead of joining hands to provide a solution, they were looking for something to use against Him. Instead of celebrating the goodness of God, they were busy asking unnecessary questions.
Conclusion:
Laws, rules and protocols are enemies of humanity. Though they're there to guide us, yet they are threats. So many people have lost their lives because they were waiting for protocols.
Song:
I give my life
I give my all
They all belong to you
Achoghim ime ihe anu aru m choro
Chineke nwerem mee ihe di gi nma
Prayer:
Lord let no Pharisaic nature be found in me. In Jesus name. Amen.
