Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!
Word: Jonah 1:15 NLT
Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!
Here's My Take:
What Jonah stands...
3. Delay:
Delay makes you lose precious things just to survive. Because you’ll throw away blessings trying to manage disobedience. Until Jonah leaves, nothing moves forward.
Notice: they didn’t move until they threw him out. Progress began where separation started. The same ship that struggled began to sail again. That’s the mystery — letting go restores speed. Jonah teaches us that obedience is the fastest route to destiny.
No prayer can replace obedience. Delay respects no title—even prophets can cause it. Jonah was a man of God but was off course. That’s how spiritual people can still face stagnation. Anointing doesn’t cancel instruction. Disobedience delays even the chosen.
Jonah’s delay didn’t only affect him, it affected a whole city. Nineveh’s revival was waiting while Jonah was running. Your delay might be holding someone’s deliverance. Some people’s salvation depends on your obedience. When you stop moving, others stop receiving.
Conclusion:
Jonah’s delay froze an entire assignment.
Delay multiplies consequences — the longer you wait, the heavier the storm. That's why they were hasting to take the sheep to the shore.
Song:
Into my heart
Into my heart
Come into my heart Lord Jesus
Come in to today
Come in to stay
Come into my heart Lord Jesus
Prayer:
Lord, take away every Jonah in my life and destiny. In Jesus. Amen
