Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!
Word: Jonah 1:15 NLT
Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!
Here's My Take:
What Jonah stands...
3. Delay:
When you run from God’s plan, you enter circles instead of destinations. Jonah used his energy to go where God didn’t send him. Effort without obedience is motion without progress. Delay begins the moment you start reasoning with God. Jonah didn’t argue loudly — he just quietly went the other way.
Delay loves silent rebellion.
He thought he could pause divine timing, but heaven waited for him to surrender.
That’s how destiny pauses until obedience returns.
The ship wasted fuel, time, and strength — all because of one man’s delay.
One person’s disobedience can slow down many destinies. You'll think that you are moving, not knowing that you're roaming about a spot. Some are delayed not by sin, but by someone. Especially someone very close.
Conclusion:
Jonah’s delay affected innocent lives. They threw goods into the sea — valuable things wasted on a wrong passenger. Jonah in a boat(your life/ministry/business) means that you're going nowhere. But tossed about..
Song:
Oh Lord Thou alone art my God
Lord early will I seek Thee
My soul longeth after Thee Oh Lord
My flesh longeth for Thee
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water Lord
Let me see Your power and glory
cs in the sanctuary
Prayer:
Lord, take away every Jonah in my life and destiny. In Jesus. Amen
