Whatever you did to get any thing(good or bad), is what you'll still do to sustain it. But any day you stop doing that, you lose everything.

For instance, if you use Fasting and Prayers to get open Heaven, you'll use same fasting and prayers to sustain it.

If you use honesty and integrity to win someone's trust, you must use them to keep him/her.

If you use bribe to gain admission, you'll use bribe(sorting) to finish school.

If you use bribe/sex to get a job, you'll use same to keep the job.

If you use lies to win someone's love, you'll use lies to keep that relationship.
