The above Scripture would have been the right way of dealing with sin, but the problem is that this days men and brethren talk too much. When you confess your sins to your brethren in private, tomorrow you'll hear that in the market/street. That's why many chose to keep it to themselves, and rather die with it. 

It's a shame!
