This scripture was fulfilled in Matt 2:9-12 during the birth of Jesus and the visit of the Wise men.
We have made so many mistakes today, which we might have avoided, because we walked/worked in our own understanding.
But when we put our hope and trust in God without leaning on our own understanding, that's how he'll order and perfect our steps.
