3. When you felt disappointed, rejected, dejected in a thing/group and feel like walking away:
One of the very word that is hurting aside abuse, jest, false report, hate speech, shaming, is the words of unfulfilled promises. Those could hurt very much and can make someone feel very bad. Some people have missed many opportunities that came their ways because they were hoping and holding unto fake promises. Who doesn't like good thing?! And because they know that the person is in need, they'll blow in one dangerous promise. Making the person stagnant, hoping on what he was promised.
I heard a story of how a lady was promised marriage by an abroad guy. On waiting for him, many suitors came she ignorantly rejected them. She did that till she went out of shape and later died. Till she lived and died, her people did not see the promis_er or know how he was.
Never blame anyone who has fallen victim of fake promises. Because those promises came when they're in need, and needed support. To some they were deceived on trust. The issue of fake promises have made some people jobless. Maybe most of them were promised a job, but were disappointed. And since they're not good at business, they'll remain like that. Why those that are sharp will switch to business. To cover their shame.
Conclusion:
Foolishness is being too fast to make promises you know that you can't keep. (Ecclesiastes 5:6a Don’t let your mouth make you sin.)
