Demas has deserted me because he loves the things of this life and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus has gone to Dalmatia.

5. When their interest is somewhere else:

Demas was a man subject to like passions as we are. What happened to him is exactly what is happening now; getting carried away by earthly perishables. And being useless to God and his kingdom.

Who knows, what he ran after may be the trending things within that dispensation. Just like this generation is doing. Though there was no internet or social media that time, but there was social activities. Activities that could make one denounce his faith. Activity that could make one crazy of sin. Activity that could make one Spiritually weak and infertile.

Just like them, we have so many of those activities more now. And they'll continue to increase with dispensation. They'll never stop. If you like run away from the ones in Nigeria and enter Brazil, you'll meet more exciting ones there. Same thing all over.

Demas was with Paul but the life(flexing) in Thessalonica was cutting eye for him. And he ran after it(them)

Conclusion:

Which trending life in your area that is cutting eye for you? What is that trending desire that has shifted you from that Child of God you used to be?

Have you forgotten the way you used talk about God, things of God and his works?
