Here's My Take:

Who is "The Old Prophet"?

1. This is a person who never wanna grow but will never get happy see you grow(perform).

This kinda attitude is also seen in the body of Christ today. Though not all but majority. I'd told us a story of how a Regional Overseer/Supretendent of a particular Church suspended a district Pastor because he was getting famous; he has a powerful gift, healing anointing.

When any Old Prophet around you find out s/he can't do what you're doing, s/he will look_out for a way to stop(hurt) you. That's their style.

So The Old Prophets believed that if they can't do it, then nobody should do it. If you insist on being better of, they'll transfer you. If youstart doing well there, again, you'll be transferred. They'll keep transferring you until you Stop or you get angry and leave. Nothing makes them as happy as seeing you leave. Because they believe you're their doom. Take Christ for instance, the Pharisees and Sadducees are the Old Prophets that existed in His time. They were happy seeing him leave(die), even though they didn't know that they were fulfilling the scripture.

And If you're in the same parish with them, then you're in a serious trouble. They'll sit as judge, to condemn or affirm whatever you do. There will be constant disagreements. When you give any sound message, they'll condemn it publicly just to ridicule and belittle you before your audience. Their intention is for people to loose interest in whatever you're doing. But God will help you. Amen.

Conclusion: 

Old Prophets are very good at playing dirty games. Woe to anyone who followed their steps because destruction awaits them
