Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!
Word: Jonah 1:15 NLT
Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!
Here's My Take:
What Jonah stands...
4. Disobedience:
Jonah brought a storm not because he was evil, but because he was disobedient. Disobedience drains resources silently.
It costs time, energy, money, and peace.
The ship became unstable because Jonah was unstable. Your environment reacts to your spiritual condition. When you disobey God, even your atmosphere senses it. Disobedience doesn’t require wickedness; it only requires refusal.
Jonah had a calling, but disobedience hijacked it. Many gifted people today are running like Jonah. Not that they refused to go, but they went and start doing different things from what they were told.
Talent cannot cancel consequences.
Anointing cannot replace obedience. Hence, obedience is better than sacrifice.
Jonah prayed later, but he disobeyed first.
That’s why storms rise — not to kill you, but to redirect you. Sometimes God sends storms as instructions. If Jonah had obeyed early, no storm, no fear, no fish.
Conclusion:
.Jonah found himself in the belly of the fish — a prison designed by his own choices.
Disobedience always creates uncomfortable classrooms.
Song:
You are glorious so glorious
In Your ways
You are glorious so glorious
In Your ways
Prayer:
Lord, may we not be the Jonah of our lives. In Jesus. Amen
